Established in Shanghai

A practice begun in 2004.

Serica began in Shanghai in 2004. Today, the Serica business is operated by Sharecold (Shanghai) Consultancy Co. Ltd.

The name Serica

An ancient name associated with silk.
A private concierge rooted in China today.

In Greek and Roman geography, Serica was the distant country from which silk was believed to come. The name recalls an age when China first reached other imaginations through material, trade and stories carried over great distances.

We do not use that history as costume. It reminds us to notice how objects, practices and people travel, and to work in contemporary China with curiosity, knowledge and restraint.

01

People

A grandfather who prefers lunch before noon can matter more than a fashionable address.

02

Place

A setting is chosen for what it contributes, not for the weight of its name.

03

Timing

The right pause, season or transition can carry more meaning than another added element.

04

Culture

Context is researched and interpreted without turning a living practice into decoration.

05

Detail

Private references are used with permission and enough restraint to remain personal.

HOW SERICA WORKS

Research, narrow, confirm, follow through.

A considered result depends less on presenting many options than on asking the right questions and keeping the chosen plan current.

01

Research

Read the people, place, timing and operating constraints before recommending a direction.

02

Narrow

Present a short, reasoned choice and identify the decisions only the client can make.

03

Confirm

Separate ideas from permissions, bookings and supplier commitments that are actually secured.

04

Follow through

Keep one accountable contact across handoffs, changes and the guest's return.

THE PEOPLE AROUND A COMMISSION

One accountable relationship, with the right specialists around it.

A Serica concierge remains responsible for the working brief. Hosts, interpreters, practitioners and licensed providers are selected and confirmed for the particular request rather than presented as a permanent team in every city.

We will say plainly what is confirmed, what is conditional and what is unavailable. That clarity is part of the service, especially when a better answer is to change the plan.

Where the practice begins

Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta

Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui place contemporary life beside old craft, ambitious cooking beside household memory, and dense cities within reach of mountain, lake and field. We work deeply here first, and go farther only when the local knowledge and standard of care can travel with us.

A private conversation

Tell us the request and what is already fixed.

Share the people, place, dates and decisions already made. We will reply with the information needed to judge timing, feasibility and the next step.
