Spring, Poured at Dusk
A half-day outside Hangzhou moves from a guided walk and comparative tea tasting to a private dusk dinner among the hills.

A Serica-arranged car collects the guests in Hangzhou in mid-afternoon and reaches the tea hills with time to walk before the heat leaves the slopes. A local tea maker leads the small group between the rows, explaining what can still be picked at the close of spring and how recent rain has changed the leaf. The pace is unhurried, but the afternoon has a clear destination: the table being prepared farther along the ridge.
Back under shelter, the tea maker pours two infusions from different positions on the same hill. Guests compare aroma, texture and finish while an interpreter adds context only where it helps. Tea, host, private setting and any permissions are confirmed in advance; if the weather turns, the tasting moves indoors rather than becoming a hurried cancellation.
As the light falls, the group walks to dinner. Seasonal Jiangnan ingredients answer the teas tasted earlier, but the table never turns into a lesson. The chef explains one course, then leaves the guests to talk. A final infusion follows dessert, and the car is ready for the return to Hangzhou. The complete experience takes roughly six hours from collection to arrival home.
