When a Gesture Finishes the Line
A four-hour private Kunqu encounter combines prepared questions, close demonstration and an early dinner that lets the conversation continue.

Before the day, Serica asks the guests what they have seen before and sends three focused questions to the proposed practitioner. The group of no more than six is collected from its hotel and arrives for tea, a short introduction and enough context to recognise the line that will anchor the session.
The performer speaks the line, sings it and then repeats one movement at close range. Guests can compare the turn, pause and direction of the gaze before asking their prepared questions. Interpretation enters only where needed, and the practitioner decides what can be demonstrated; the encounter is a conversation, not a promised private performance.
After a short break, the group moves to an early dinner nearby or in an adjoining room. One guest may return to the question of breath, another to costume or text, and the practitioner can remain for an agreed part of the meal if willing. This makes the cultural exchange the centre of a half-day rather than a brief add-on between sightseeing stops.
Serica coordinates the practitioner, room, background notes, interpreter, transport, meal, timing and privacy conditions. If the practitioner or venue cannot participate, the proposal is revised before confirmation rather than substituted without the guests' knowledge.
Guests leave with one line they have heard in several forms and a practical way to watch the next performance more attentively.

Serica approaches an appropriate practitioner, prepares both sides, and coordinates interpretation, hospitality, transport and dinner.
