A City Seen From Orbit

Identity checks and a photography briefing come first. From an approved viewing corridor, an integration engineer introduces a civilian earth-observation satellite as a set of hard limits: mass, heat, power, vibration and the impossibility of repairing a careless decision once the craft is in orbit. The cleanroom remains a working environment, not a stage arranged for visitors.

The group follows one instrument from mounting logic to the questions its data can answer. Later, in a separate earth-data studio, a specialist opens cleared imagery of a coastline, farmland and urban heat. No sensitive screen is exposed. The conversation stays with the transformation from pixels to decisions: how uncertainty is measured, what can be seen too late and why a distant view does not remove responsibility from the person interpreting it.

Lunch gives the technical hosts a proper pause. The afternoon may continue with a visualisation session or a private discussion about commercial space, insurance and the business of putting useful systems into orbit. Serica keeps the rhythm deliberate; more rooms do not necessarily make a more serious day.

Dinner returns the view to the ground. River fish, seasonal vegetables and a carefully chosen Chinese, Burgundian or Italian wine can connect landscape to table without turning space into decoration. The technical host may join by agreement. Serica holds the commercial host, security process, interpretation, vehicles, lunch and dinner as a single full-day plan.

One cleared image anchors the final discussion about resolution, uncertainty and use. Any site, dataset and participant remain limited to what the commercial host approved.
